With a historic $1.55 billion investment in transportation, SDOT is undertaking significant projects like building sidewalks, fixing bridges, and improving transit. This role is within the Engineering Services Group of the Capital Projects Division, focusing on the engineering and construction document preparation for New Levy projects and supporting non-Levy engineering work. The position will be instrumental in an extensive bridge preservation program, including the Bridge Seismic Retrofit Program (BSRP), Bridge Structural Preservation Program, and the Bridge Painting Program. Additionally, it will provide in-house design support for bridge design, retaining wall design, traffic signal pole foundation design, structural design for other City Departments (SPU and SCL), and the Areaway Hazard Mitigation Program. The role also involves supporting the Bridge Load Rating Program and conducting assessments and analysis of existing structures according to AASHTO and FHWA requirements.
