About The Position

Parsons is hiring a Senior Bridge Engineer to support bridge projects in the Virginia and Washington, DC region from its Centreville, VA or Washington, DC office. The role involves work on conventional and design/build bridge programs, including concrete and steel bridges and deck and superstructure rehabilitations. The position plans and designs bridge structures for structural reliability, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, and develops engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, estimates, surveys, and designs. This is a hybrid position.

Requirements

At least 8 years of related work experience in bridge engineering design.
VDOT and DDOT experience.
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient knowledge of MS Office and MicroStation.
Comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard and specialty bridge design and analysis software.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Responsibilities

Plan and design bridge structures to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Develop engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
Perform conventional and moderately complex bridge engineering tasks and important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
Work on a project or organizational team, or serve as lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.
Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
Contribute to quality and continuous improvement through innovation, creative thinking, and improved results.
Establish and maintain cooperative, productive relationships with employees, clients, and other stakeholders.
