About The Position

Our office in Woodbridge, Ontario is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to
help lead and grow our dynamic team. We specialize in the design of heavy
industrial facilities such as cement, lime, mining, pulp and paper.  Our design
professionals support projects all over the US and Canada and integrate with
multi-discipline engineering teams on a wide array of projects.  This is an
opportunity to drive and expand an energetic team and learn from professionals
with many years of experience.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in concrete and steel design, including software such as SAP 2000 or similar
• Extensive experience in North American concrete and steel building codes
• A minimum of 5 years' experience with heavy industry such as cement, lime, mining, pulp and paper
• Experience with project management such as scheduling, QA/QC and client liaison
• Registered as a Professional Engineer in good standing
• The desire to work towards the Company's goal of excellent and timely service.
• Experience in the following commercial building construction systems is required: Reinforced and post-tensioned concrete Reinforced masonry Structural steel and composite steel Shallow, deep and raft foundations Concrete, masonry and wood shear wall systems Steel braced frame and moment frame systems
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to learn from, and work with other team members
• Accredited bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering

Responsibilities

• Oversee production of engineering documents such as reports, calculations, 3D models and drawings that are complete and technically accurate
• Utilize and train others in design software such as RISA, SAP 2000, Bluebeam, and REVIT to produce construction drawings
• Interact with clients regarding technical design issues, coordination of document preparation, and submittal schedules
• Mentor and train younger engineers and team members
