Senior Structural Designer - Piping Movement Design
About The Position
Victaulic is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to join its Corporate Engineering team at its Global Headquarters in Easton, PA. This role focuses on piping movement design and involves preparing steel and concrete structural layouts, connection details, and shop drawings. The designer will collaborate with engineers, clients, consultants, and contractors to coordinate multidisciplinary drawing sets, resolve design conflicts, and ensure efficient project progression from kickoff to submittal. The Corporate Engineering – Piping Movement Design Team is responsible for developing structural drawings and connection details that support piping and MEP systems across Victaulic project sites, acting as a crucial link between engineering design and field installation. Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of structure-related drafting experience
- Understanding of multidisciplinary construction documents and drawings (structural, mechanical, architectural, plant/facility)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Suite
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the structural/mechanical discipline and commercial construction industry
- Working knowledge of various construction types and building methods (steel, concrete, cold-form steel, masonry)
Responsibilities
- Prepare steel and concrete structural layouts and connection details using AutoCAD and BIM (Revit) software
- Develop and modify MEP support structure designs and steel shop drawings based on engineers' markups
- Review and organize multidisciplinary construction drawings received from clients, consultants, and company contacts
- Identify clashes, conflicts, and incomplete design information across construction drawing sets
- Collaborate with internal and external engineers and contractors to complete well-coordinated structural drawing sets
- Manage and update drawing templates and the library of details and components for efficient, accurate project submission
- Prepare simple structural connection design calculations for inclusion in submittal packages
- Support project reviews, kickoff meetings, customer contact, and other job control functions
- Multitask across ongoing drafting projects and optimize workflow to meet deadlines
