About The Position

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Strategic Intelligence Analyst to join its Market Intelligence team. This research-intensive role focuses on investigating industries, markets, competitors, economic conditions, customers, and emerging trends through desk research using public and subscription-based data, industry research, company information, news sources, and internal resources. The analyst evaluates source credibility, synthesizes quantitative and qualitative evidence, develops well-supported points of view, and translates complex topics into concise reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leaders. The role centers on research, analysis, synthesis, and business writing rather than dashboard development or primary market research. The analyst develops ongoing expertise in select markets and strategic topics, monitors relevant developments, and supports business planning, growth strategy, market prioritization, and other strategic decisions. The position uses AI and emerging research tools thoughtfully while requiring independent evaluation of sources and conclusions. Travel is approximately 10%. The role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan. Visa sponsorship is not offered, and candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting complex business or industry research and developing clear, evidence-based conclusions.
  • Exceptional business writing and synthesis skills, including the ability to turn extensive research into concise executive narratives.
  • Strong business judgment and ability to distinguish an interesting fact from an insight that could influence a decision.
  • Strong quantitative literacy and ability to interpret market, economic, financial, and industry data.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills and strong Excel proficiency, including the ability to create clear charts, exhibits, and executive-ready presentations.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
