About The Position

Industrial Brothers is looking for an experienced and collaborative Senior Storyboard Artist to join the team on our 3D animated children’s series currently in production overseas. We’re looking for a strong visual storyteller with a passion for character performance, cinematic staging, pacing, and storytelling through composition and acting. Strong comedic skills and experience are key factors. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative production environment, communicates ideas clearly, and brings creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving to every sequence. At Industrial Brothers, we value artists who are excited to contribute creatively while working closely with Directors, Storyboard leadership, and Production teams to bring engaging stories to life.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional storyboard experience on a 3D animated series
  • Strong storytelling instincts with a solid understanding of cinematography, staging, pacing, and visual comedy
  • Excellent drawing skills with the ability to convey character emotion, acting, movement, and appeal
  • Strong understanding of shot composition, screen direction, and camera language
  • Ability to adapt to the visual style and tone of the series
  • Experience collaborating within a production pipeline and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to receive and apply creative feedback professionally and collaboratively
  • Creative problem-solving mindset with a strong attention to detail
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside in Ontario.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced artists is considered an asset
  • Experience in children’s episodic animation is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Translate scripts into dynamic, entertaining, and emotionally clear storyboard sequences
  • Collaborate closely with Directors, Overseas storyboard team, and fellow artists to execute the creative vision of the series
  • Create storyboard panels that reflect strong storytelling fundamentals, including staging, composition, continuity, screen direction, acting, timing, and camera language all through a comedic lens
  • Interpret scripts visually while maintaining consistency in style, tone, and character performance
  • Pitch thumbnails, rough boards, and sequences to Directors and Storyboard leadership
  • Incorporate feedback and revisions in a collaborative and solutions-oriented manner
  • Ensure assigned sequences are delivered on schedule and production-ready
  • Anticipate creative or technical challenges and proactively communicate solutions
  • Maintain continuity across sequences while supporting overall episode flow and storytelling clarity
  • Mentor and support junior artists and revisionists where needed
  • Work within established production pipelines, templates, naming conventions, and technical requirements
  • Stay current on storyboarding workflows, techniques, and industry tools
  • Travel overseas might be required

Benefits
