About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Storage Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing complex storage solutions, including file and block storage, SAN infrastructures, and replication technologies. You will be responsible for leading troubleshooting efforts, planning and executing storage migrations, and acting as a technical reference point for storage-related topics. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members, collaborate with other infrastructure teams and vendors, and produce technical documentation. A key aspect of this role is gathering and understanding customer requirements, guiding them in architectural choices, and translating business needs into technical storage architectures. You will advise customers on best practices, design trade-offs, and risk mitigation, and support them during design reviews and technical discussions. Collaboration with internal teams to ensure feasibility, scalability, and supportability of proposed architectures is crucial. You will also provide technical leadership during implementation and delivery phases.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of file and block storage architectures.
  • Deep knowledge of SAN technologies (Fibre Channel and/or iSCSI).
  • Deep knowledge of storage performance and capacity management.
  • Solid understanding of replication concepts (sync vs async).
  • Proven experience in complex troubleshooting scenarios.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Dell Technologies (PowerStore, PowerMax, PowerScale).
  • Hands-on experience with HPE storage solutions (Primera, Alletra, 3PAR).
  • Experience in virtualized and mission-critical environments.
  • Interaction with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Vendor certifications (Dell, HPE, NetApp, IBM equivalent).
  • Experience with non-disruptive migrations.
  • Automation and scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python).

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage file storage solutions, including advanced file system and share management (SMB/NFS), quota design, access control, and capacity planning.
  • Design, implement, and manage block storage environments, including LUN lifecycle management and LUN masking and host integration.
  • Architect and manage SAN infrastructures, including FC / iSCSI zoning and design, and performance, resiliency, and availability optimization.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot replication solutions, including synchronous and asynchronous replication, and support for disaster recovery and business continuity use cases.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex storage incidents.
  • Plan and execute storage migrations, upgrades, and lifecycle activities.
  • Act as a technical reference point for storage topics.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote best practices.
  • Collaborate with other infrastructure teams and vendors.
  • Produce and review technical documentation and standards.
  • Gather and understand customer requirements (capacity, performance, availability, resilience).
  • Guide customers in architectural choices, recommending appropriate storage solutions and designs.
  • Translate business and application requirements into technical storage architectures.
  • Advise customers on best practices, design trade-offs, and risk mitigation.
  • Support customers during design reviews, workshops, and technical discussions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposed architectures are feasible, scalable, and supportable.
  • Provide technical leadership during implementation and delivery phases.
