About The Position
Avar Consulting, an AMDEX Corporation Company, is seeking a Senior Statistician to join its team supporting Federal government clients on multiple projects. The role involves conducting technical quality reviews of research and evaluation products to ensure they meet statistical standards, guidelines, and policies. Avar Consulting specializes in data sciences, cloud solutions, application development, program management, and health IT operations, focusing on modernizing data for the Federal Government.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of technical approaches for research and analysis on labor and program evaluation.
- A minimum of five years of experience in performing empirical social science research.
- Strong statistical and economic analysis skills.
- Experience in performing complex statistical analysis using large data sets.
- Expert level knowledge of appropriate evaluation, statistical, and sampling approaches and methodologies.
- Expert in use of MS Office products, including Word, Power Point, and Excel.
- Expert in statistical software such as R, Python, STATA and SAS.
- Ability to perform web research.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Only US citizens and permanent residents will be considered for this role.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge and understanding of US Department of Labor agencies and programs, as well as evaluation and research efforts.
- Prior experience facilitating joint projects between federal agencies.
- Familiarity with the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA).
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical quality reviews of research and evaluation products.
- Assess whether research and evaluation products meet established statistical standards, guidelines, and policies.
- Perform empirical social science research.
- Conduct complex statistical analysis using large data sets.
- Identify and recommend suggestions and solutions to improve evaluation and survey designs, as well as analysis projects.
- Perform web research.
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing.
