Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional welding or fabrication training is preferred.
  • Several years of hands-on experience in stainless steel fabrication within a manufacturing or custom fabrication environment.
  • Advanced TIG and MIG welding experience, with a strong emphasis on stainless steel.
  • Strong knowledge of stainless steel fabrication techniques, fit-up, distortion control, and finishing.
  • Ability to independently read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with layout, cutting, forming, fitting, welding, and finishing fabricated assemblies.
  • Strong understanding of precision measurement and the ability to work within tight tolerances.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently on complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble complex stainless steel components and assemblies according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform precision fitting, cutting, forming, welding, and finishing of stainless steel materials.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and technical specifications.
  • Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel while maintaining proper fit-up, appearance, and dimensional accuracy.
  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including saws, grinders, presses, brakes, shears, and other metalworking equipment.
  • Measure, lay out, and fit components using precision measuring tools to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Inspect completed fabrication work to ensure dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot fit-up and fabrication challenges and make necessary adjustments to produce quality finished components.
  • Work independently on complex fabrication projects while assisting and providing guidance to less experienced team members when needed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and promptly report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors.
