As Senior Staff Technical Product Manager, you will lead the execution of Scout’s digital diagnostic and fault resolution ecosystem, enabling seamless Rivian Volkswagen joint venture (RVT) as well as VW Group tool integrations, intuitive technician interfaces, and intelligent vehicle health monitoring and analytics. This strategic and technical role bridges engineering, product management, and Aftersales business to deliver scalable solutions that improve diagnostic accuracy, technician efficiency, and service throughput. Requirements

  • 12+ years of product management experience, with a strong emphasis on technical platforms and service tools.
  • Proven success in building and launching diagnostic or service-related digital solutions.
  • Automotive diagnostics experience required.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud platforms, and data integration patterns.
  • Experience with diagnostic platforms, service tools, or vehicle communication systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to define product strategy in highly ambiguous environments
  • Ability to influence senior leadership and align diverse stakeholder groups
  • Recognized subject matter expertise within diagnostics, service platforms, or related domains
  • Proficiency with Agile tools (Jira/Confluence), PRD authoring, and discovery practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver 0–1 platforms in pre-launch or transformation environments.
  • Ability to create detailed technical requirement for software engineering partners.
  • Highly analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management; be able to align engineering, operations, business, and field teams.
  • Data-driven decision making; comfortable with dashboards, SQL basics, and experimentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Define, evolve, and drive the long-term product and ecosystem strategy for Scout’s diagnostics and Vehicle Health platforms across Aftersales, Vehicle Engineering, RVT, and VW Group partners.
  • Identify and define new problem spaces and strategic opportunities beyond the immediate roadmap, influencing broader Digital Product Aftersales direction.
  • Frame and solve highly ambiguous, cross-domain problems related to diagnostics, guided-fault resolution, and vehicle health.
  • Evaluate technical, operational, and business tradeoffs, including intangible factors, to define optimal solutions.
  • Guide product development across multiple related initiatives and teams, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives
  • Establish product frameworks, standards, and best practices adopted across diagnostic and service platforms
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including Aftersales Business, IT, Engineering, Volkswagen Group, and RVT stakeholders, to develop front-end tool interfaces.
  • Develop an intelligent fault-guidance system that helps technicians accurately identify root causes and enables seamless connectivity to over-the-air updates.
  • Ensure product requirements are clearly captured and translated into effective technology solutions, while coordinating with RVT for backend integration.
  • Influence and align senior leadership and diverse cross-functional stakeholders on strategy, priorities, and tradeoffs.
  • Drive decision-making across competing stakeholder groups with differing constraints and objectives.
  • Lead the rollout of diagnostic platforms and tools across Scout workshops and internal teams, ensuring adoption, training, and performance monitoring across the network.
  • Support deployment of Vehicle Health dashboards and proactive service alerts to improve technician readiness, enable earlier fault detection, and enhance service throughput.
  • Define scalable operating models for diagnostic platforms across Scout’s service ecosystem.
  • Ensure adoption and integration of capabilities across multiple functions and partner systems.
  • Drive architectural decisions across systems, APIs, and data integrations, balancing long-term scalability and short-term delivery needs.
  • Influence cross-platform technical decisions impacting multiple product domains.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineering to ensure scalable, efficient, and secure diagnostic solutions.
  • Define KPIs and success metrics for diagnostic accuracy, tool usability, fault resolution speed, and integration performance.
  • Incorporate metrics that reflect the impact of vehicle health data on diagnostic precision and service efficiency.
  • Use data and user feedback to drive product improvements that enhance diagnostic operations and service outcomes.
