Senior Staff Software Engineer, Geo Auto SDK Tech Lead

Google•Seattle, WA
•$262,000 - $364,000

About The Position

As a part of Google Maps Automotive, this role helps car manufacturers build next-generation navigation and infotainment systems through a customizable Software Development Kit (SDK) and APIs that bring Google Maps capabilities into vehicles. The engineer will design and develop core SDK components and work closely with automotive partners to support technology integration and shape in-vehicle experiences. The role sets technical direction and architecture for the Geo Automotive SDK, spanning map data delivery, localization, navigation, and 3D rendering. It connects cloud geospatial services and vehicle sensor pipelines to low-latency client APIs and multi-screen cockpit displays, while establishing SDK standards and coordinating engineering work across teams and global automakers. The position also mentors senior engineers and tech leads and helps raise code and design quality across teams in Seattle, Munich, and Mountain View.
