About The Position

Veza is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Tech Lead) to design, develop, and maintain features for its identity and access management platform, with a focus on integrations. The Integrations team builds services that ingest data from external systems such as AWS and Okta into the Veza platform. This work enables Veza's product features across a broad and growing set of supported integrations and involves modeling the unique access relationships of each integration within Veza's data model. The role also focuses on developing scalable ways to add integrations using AI/ML models. The engineer will work across engineering and other functions to make integration data available to product teams and help customers manage their enterprise ecosystems. As a technical lead, the role sets technical direction and architecture for projects while guiding backend engineers. It also partners with Product, Solutions Engineering, Support, and customers to translate requirements into connector designs and establish integration priorities.

Requirements

  • Experience leveraging or critically evaluating how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving; examples may include AI-powered tools, workflow automation, AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact.
  • Typically, at least 12 years of related experience, or an advanced degree with 8 years of backend software development experience, focused on data modeling, management, identity, security, or related areas.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Golang or Java.
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
  • Experience optimizing and building databases, storage layers, or distributed systems.
  • Experience building pluggable, modular software that enables code decoupling.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching mechanisms, and distributed systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and build integrations with services such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, and resources such as Box, Hashicorp, and Databricks, with attention to performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Lead a team of backend software engineers and provide mentorship and guidance.
  • Drive technical direction for assigned projects, including architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Leverage AI/ML models to develop scalable approaches for integrations.
  • Partner with Product, Solutions Engineering, Support, and customers to translate requirements into connector designs and prioritize the integration roadmap.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enable them to consume integration data and provide tools that help customers manage their enterprise ecosystems.
