About The Position

Etsy is seeking a Senior Staff Product Manager to set product strategy for its Agentic Platform, a platform that enables teams to safely build, operate, and improve agents across the company. This senior individual-contributor role is part of the Foundation organization and partners with Security, Developer Platform, Runtime Platform, Architecture, FinOps, and Employee Technology. The platform serves internal engineers and product teams building agent experiences for buyers and sellers. The position reports to the Senior Director of Product, Foundation. The role involves defining a multi-year vision for how Etsy builds, runs, and improves agents; turning developments in models, agent frameworks, MCP, context management, and evaluation into investment decisions; and leading build-versus-buy and vendor choices for core infrastructure. The Senior Staff Product Manager will establish ways to measure agent quality, run discovery and experiments, align technical and product leaders around shared outcomes, and help set platform product standards while mentoring other product managers. The role is based with a preference for candidates within commuting distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn office. Depending on proximity, team members are expected to work from the office once or twice per week. Remote candidates outside commuting distance may be considered case by case, with occasional travel to the office expected. Compensation varies by location: Geo-1 salary is $226,000–$306,000 annually, and Geo-2 salary is $203,000–$275,000 annually. The position is eligible for equity and an annual performance bonus, in addition to benefits.

Requirements

  • Significant product management experience leading ambiguous platform or infrastructure problems with measurable impact for developers.
  • Hands-on fluency with AI agents and LLM tools sufficient to engage engineers on model gateways, MCP, context and retrieval, sandboxing, and evaluation.
  • Experience shipping developer platforms or security-sensitive systems where reliability, governance, and adoption matter.
  • Strong judgment in evaluation and experimental design, including the ability to distinguish real quality gains from compelling demos.
  • Systems-level thinking and the ability to identify shared capabilities worth building without disconnecting platforms from customer needs.
  • A track record of influencing senior technical and product leaders without formal authority across partner teams with overlapping scope.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and own a multi-year product vision and strategy for how Etsy builds, runs, and improves agents.
  • Translate developments in models, agent frameworks, MCP, context management, and evaluation into concrete investments with clear success measures.
  • Lead build-versus-buy and vendor decisions for core infrastructure, including the gateway and context layer.
  • Define how Etsy measures agent quality, including benchmarks, task success, acceptance rates, and the failure rate of agent-authored changes compared with human-authored changes.
  • Run discovery and experiments to validate or rule out investments before scaling them.
  • Align engineering leaders, architects, security partners, and product teams on shared outcomes and clear ownership.
  • Set standards for platform product thinking across Foundation and mentor other product managers.
  • Undertake other tasks as required; duties and responsibilities may change at Etsy’s discretion or as applicable law permits.

Benefits

  • Equity package
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Competitive benefits that support employees and their families
