About The Position

Grindr is seeking a Senior Staff Product Manager, Ads to own the strategy, roadmap, and execution across ad experiences, rewarded ads, and the systems behind them. This role is focused on scaling an ad product that can become a significant revenue driver without compromising the user experience. The ideal candidate will define the future of ads at Grindr, operating in a 'Grindr Mode' environment that emphasizes outcomes, smart people, and work-life balance. This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago, requiring in-person presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, including meaningful ownership of consumer-facing ads, ads monetization, rewarded ads, or adjacent monetization products.
  • Strong consumer product judgment, with a track record of building experiences that balance user needs, business outcomes, and technical constraints.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams on ads platforms, ad formats, measurement, delivery, or monetization infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to define strategy, build roadmaps, and execute through ambiguity as a senior IC across multiple cross-functional partners.
  • Strong data fluency, including comfort using metrics, experimentation, and performance analysis to make product decisions.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and operating as the product point of contact for a complex, business-critical domain.

  • Have built or scaled ads products at a consumer company where user experience, marketplace dynamics, and revenue outcomes all mattered.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for Grindr’s consumer ads business, focusing on building ads experiences that improve monetization without compromising user trust or product quality.
  • Serve as the product SME and primary product partner for ads, working closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Ads Sales, and senior leadership to define priorities and drive execution.
  • Build and scale a stronger rewarded ads portfolio, identifying areas for improvement, reduction, or rethinking of existing ad experiences.
  • Translate business goals, advertiser needs, and user experience signals into clear product bets, sequencing, and success metrics.
  • Partner with technical teams on ads platform, ad formats, delivery systems, and measurement, with familiarity in programmatic advertising, mobile ad mediation, and the broader ad delivery ecosystem.
  • Use data, experimentation, and market insight to evaluate ads performance, diagnose issues, and identify opportunities impacting Grindr’s bottom line.
  • Diagnose supply quality issues and optimize publisher-side ad logic, with the ability to design and test novel monetization approaches on top of existing mediation infrastructure.
