About The Position

As a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer, you will help shape Carbon’s future hardware by defining technical roadmaps and foundational architectures for next-generation additive manufacturing solutions. You will serve as a technical leader on a high-velocity hardware team, working through ambiguity to deliver reliable systems, raising engineering standards across the organization, and mentoring staff-level and junior engineering talent. The role is remote, working from a home office in North Carolina. The position owns high-level mechanical architecture for new 3D printing platforms, supports cross-functional technical delivery, establishes engineering standards for validation and reliability, and influences long-term product strategy. It also involves identifying architectural gaps and serving as a technical decision-maker in design reviews and root-cause analyses. Carbon’s stated compensation range for this position in North Carolina is $167,600–$251,400 per year, with a midpoint of $209,500. Eligible employees may receive equity, benefits, and time-off programs as part of a total rewards package.
