About The Position

Bloom Energy is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to conduct computational fluid dynamics (CFD) work for next-generation product development. The role focuses on accelerating model predictions and improvements by integrating data and AI tools into physics-based modeling, and delivering timely, accurate predictions in a fast-paced environment.

The engineer will collaborate regularly with cross-functional teams to validate models and optimize performance, provide guidance to product development from concept through production, and report and present results and recommendations to diverse groups. The position is fully onsite in San Jose, California, and reports to the Sr. Director, Development Engineering.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Deep understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and CFD fundamentals.
• At least 3 years of industry experience utilizing CFD.
• High proficiency with ANSYS Fluent and/or Star-CCM+.
• Ability to use first principles for quick calculations and CFD models.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a timely manner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter and quick learner.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Python and data analysis tools.
