About The Position

Renesas is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Application Technology Architect to serve as its global technical leader for drone and UAV applications. The role defines and drives end-to-end system architectures for next-generation industrial and defense UAV platforms, identifies emerging market opportunities, shapes solution roadmaps, and promotes differentiated semiconductor and software solutions. It serves as a technical authority connecting customer requirements, ecosystem needs, aviation regulations, and semiconductor product engineering. The architect guides solution strategy, ecosystem engagement, reference-platform development, and semiconductor adoption across industrial, commercial, and defense UAV markets. The role collaborates across product and engineering teams, engages customers and ecosystem partners, and supports architecture, implementation, integration, verification, validation, and flight testing over the development lifecycle. It also contributes reusable reference architectures and solution building blocks, provides technical mentoring, and translates UAV market and regulatory developments into application strategies and product investment opportunities. Renesas describes itself as an embedded semiconductor solution provider with a global team of over 21,000 engineers and problem solvers in more than 30 countries. Its culture is grounded in being Transparent, Agile, Global, Innovative, and Entrepreneurial. The company states that it offers competitive compensation and a benefits package, with more information provided during the hiring process. Renesas is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. The role may involve technology subject to U.S. export controls, and a U.S. government export license may be required before technology is released to certain persons.
