About The Position

The Senior Staff Accountant oversees consolidated financial reporting for the parent and subsidiary, ensuring accurate, GAAP-compliant statements and a timely close. This role serves as the financial lead for the subsidiary, with full responsibility for P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, while partnering with leadership to drive pricing, cost control, and margin improvement.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a private equity–owned company with exposure to tight close timelines, board reporting, lender packages, and EBITDA bridge analysis.
  • Strong Technical Accounting Foundation (CPA is a plus).
  • Deep U.S. GAAP expertise, audit leadership experience, and comfort with complex areas (revenue recognition, consolidations, debt accounting, purchase accounting).
  • Proven P&L Ownership & Business Partnership Experience.
  • A self-starter and “can-do” mentality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across internal teams, channel partners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and foster strong, trust-based partner relationships at scale.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a bias toward data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
  • Clear and timely communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish and nourish effective working relationships with customers, managers, supply partners, and fellow teammates at EspriGas.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day accounting activities ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and balance sheet analyses.
  • Manage inventory accounting and internal controls, including inventory reconciliations, cycle count reviews, physical inventory oversight and variance investigations to ensure accurate inventory valuation and financial reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for operational and financial improvements, and communicate findings to management.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities, providing financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
  • Coordinate annual audits and other financial reviews by providing requested documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and implementing recommendations as appropriate.
  • Assist with special or cross-functional projects, tasks, and initiatives as assigned.
