This role reports to an Assistant Controller or Controller and is responsible for delivering accurate financial information, meaningful analysis, and insights to support strategic decision-making and operational success. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience; industry experience is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong overall computer literacy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • A genuine eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English.
  • Employees in the position are required to be able to hear and have sufficient vision to utilize all office equipment.
  • Use of hands and fingers is required to utilize standard office equipment.
  • Requires occasional lifting to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Protect and manage company assets in alignment with corporate policies and GAAP.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports that support business decisions.
  • Contribute to the accuracy and integrity of financial data while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including outgoing wires (land purchases), accruals, allocations, payroll, commissions, depreciation, RENO, and intercompany transactions.
  • Review financial data and supporting files to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Record and reconcile transactions such as ACH payments and bank activity.
  • Generate and analyze monthly reports (e.g., spec aging, closed margins, warranty).
  • Review customer deposit activity and provide supporting documentation and explanations.
  • Set up and maintain system data, including lot and land records.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Track and manage fixed assets, including depreciation and disposals.
  • Prepare quarterly schedules and assist with financial reporting requirements.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation and support internal and external audit requests.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and take on additional responsibilities as part of your ongoing professional development.
