As a Senior Accountant, you will be a professional member of our EY Private, Enterprise Advisory Services team. Our Enterprise practice provides specialized accounting, audit and review services (audit and review engagements, notices to reader (compilation), personal and corporate taxes) to small businesses and individuals.

Requirements

  • University degree
  • CPA or CA designation or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public accounting and in performing audit, review and compilation engagements
  • Experience working with CaseWare/Caseview and Taxprep including NTR’s and reviews
  • Prior experience working with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Simply Accounting and others)
  • Strong accounting and tax skills, general ledger, cash receipts, cash disbursements, investment company accounting with knowledge of HST and GST administration
  • Preparation of T4’s, T5’s, T3 Trust returns and T5013 partnership returns experience
  • Strong personal and corporate tax knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel

Responsibilities

  • Prepare audit, review and compilation (notice to reader) files
  • Prepare personal and corporate income tax returns and other tax slips like HST and GST filing
  • Assist managers with material for client presentations
  • Understand accounting, audit and review concepts and apply them to client situations
  • Adapt audit and review methodologies to a range of client types
  • Foster an efficient, innovative and team-focused environment
  • Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery
