About The Position

This is a 100% remote contract role for a Senior SQL Server DBA with a duration of 6+ months. The position involves designing complex databases, developing ETL solutions, optimizing database performance, and providing day-to-day support for databases and applications. The role also includes participating in High Availability/Disaster Recovery tests, monitoring database performance and capacity, upgrading and patching DBMS, and ensuring proper backup and recovery procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 12+ plus years of experience in Database Management / Data Integration.
• Proficient SQL Server DBMS.
• Strong SSIS (ETL) skills.
• Knowledge in data replication technologies (e.g. DTShare, CDC, SQL Replication, Attunity)
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design complex databases, tables, stored procedures, views, triggers and other database objects.
• Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) solutions.
• Work closely with application development project teams to ensure optimal application performance.
• Optimize database performance through a number of techniques including but not limited to: indexing, query optimization, database design.
• Participate in periodic High Availability / Disaster Recovery tests of critical systems.
• Proactively monitor database performance, capacity planning and resource consumption.
• Provide day to day support for databases and database applications.
• Upgrade and patch DBMSs.
• Ensure databases and database objects are backed up according to business requirements, and recovery procedures are tested and documented.
