About The Position

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a skilled Senior SQL Database Administrator to augment an existing team providing Life Cycle Sustainment (LCS) activities for commercial and custom-developed education, learning, and training applications. This is a self-motivated role on a fast-paced team, requiring a willingness to take on challenges in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and ten (10) years of experience as a DBA.
• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a DBA may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in managing SQL Server databases.
• Must be able to work during core hours of M–F 10am–2pm. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the PowerShell scripting language.
• Experience in SharePoint migrations.
• Ability to clearly communicate ambiguous or highly complex concepts to all audiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform database patching and vulnerability remediation in alignment with IAVA requirements, including compliance reporting across enterprise database systems.
• Maintain and administer Microsoft SQL Server environments (various versions) across on-premises and cloud-based infrastructures.
• Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational support for database systems, including performance tuning, query optimization, and issue resolution.
• Execute database patching, upgrades, backups, restores, and routine maintenance to ensure data integrity, availability, and system reliability.
• Implement and manage database security, including user access controls, roles, permissions, and encryption standards.
• Utilize T-SQL and PowerShell scripting to automate database administration, monitoring, and reporting tasks.
• Leverage AWS services, including RDS, EC2, Lambda, and CloudFormation, to deploy, manage, and optimize cloud-hosted database solutions.
• Support infrastructure-as-code initiatives using Ansible and Terraform for database provisioning, configuration management, and automation.
• Develop and maintain database automation scripts and monitoring tools to streamline operations and improve performance and uptime.
