About The Position

Amgen is seeking a Senior Specialty Representative for their Primary Care Specialty team, covering the San Antonio and Laredo territories. This role involves a 50% travel requirement, including overnights. The Senior Specialty Representative will serve as the primary customer contact, responsible for implementing marketing strategies and promoting Amgen products. The position requires providing clinical knowledge of Amgen's products to medical professionals, acting as a sales leader to achieve territory sales targets, and managing accounts by ensuring product access and resolving reimbursement issues. The role also involves analyzing sales activities, developing territory plans, and fostering disease state awareness. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry.
  • Product or sales experience in the areas of family practice/internal medicine and the diseases and treatments involved with cardio-metabolic disease.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus

  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration

Responsibilities

  • Provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate the clinical and economic benefits of the products to medical professionals.
  • Perform as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by implementing and delivering branded sales messages and strategies.
  • Deliver branded sales messages, implement planned programs, schedule and follow-up with medical educational programs, and achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving/triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, as well as develop territory plans with the District Manager.
  • Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and be in a state of continuous curiosity and learning.
  • Leverage passion for disease state awareness, industry, regulatory and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
