About The Position

The Senior Specialist provides retail sales and operational expertise to the Microsoft Retail Programs field execution team and Microsoft companywide business. This role runs day-to-day activities and focuses on execution of tactical plans related to Retail Programs and Microsoft sales. This role is responsible for retail plans and tactics and supports the Retail Programs leaders as required with broader business initiatives and project work. The Senior Specialist works cross-functionally with retail stores, vendors, merchant and marketing operations, merchants, marketing, demand planning, IT, finance, HR, services, retail operations, and other company partners to enable execution of business plans in retail. This role is designed to work in a hybrid model which would have individuals in the office on average 3 days per week. All applicants must live or be willing and able to relocate to a commutable distance to the corporate campus in Richfield, Minnesota. This role requires up to 30% travel annually to allow for market visits and support at events and marketplaces that need to be trained.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience in Business, Retail, Sales, Operations, or related experience
  • 1 or more years of vendor or external partner management
  • 1 or more years of Excel program usage

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years of financial management experience with P&L responsibilities.
  • 1 or more years of Project management or cross-functional team experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to constantly assess and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

  • Design Retail Programs plans, tools, and tactics to yield a positive employee and customer experience.
  • Executed and analyzed daily, weekly, and monthly Microsoft and retail program reports for internal and external partners, transforming insights into clear, data‑driven storytelling documentation.
  • Ability to analyze business to create recommendations on how to improve sales while leaning into retail program field leaders as well as corporate partners
  • Provide Microsoft Retail Programs teams and other partners with sales and operational perspective, advice, and limits regarding sales proficiency, retail capacity, and ability to execute plans.
  • Ensure corporate actions and directions are deployed consistent with retail SOP and parameters.
  • Develop ongoing working relationships with key partners as required to support day-to-day operational business needs and more strategic initiatives.
  • Works with cross-functional teams and contributes to sales, operational processes, and strategy for product launches, business category strategies, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure and tools to maximize business across the category.
  • Coordinates key run the business operational activities in support of the broader category support team.
  • Monitors retail feedback integration points and provides insight and opportunities to manager and partners.
  • Supports the Manager in the completion of the tactics required to launch new Retail Program stores and/or projects through reporting, analysis, assisting in creation of materials and process documentation.
