About The Position

Reliability Engineer supporting various programs within Space and Airborne Systems. Typical tasks include failure analysis, trending, Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS) and Sustainment Activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in production tests including Environment Stress Screening (ESS) and troubleshooting temperature related failures is a plus.
  • Experience in Production build processes and associated workmanship standards
  • Proven proficiency to prioritize tasks and organize a workload to ensure most important issues are addressed first
  • Experience with statistical analysis
  • Aerospace or Defense/Government program experience

Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of FRACAS systems and proven experience generating FRACAS reports
  • Avionics manufacturing or other high reliability manufacturing experience is required.
  • Familiarity with Avionics PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards), fiber optic and mechanical assembly manufacturing.
  • Skilled in failure analysis and problem-solving methods and the tools needed in solving wide ranging and diverse failure issues (electrical, mechanical, material, component, test) and determining their reliability-related impacts.
  • Root Cause, Corrective Action (RCCA) process
  • Work with Production, Engineering and other functional groups in resolving production, product and/or supplier related problems.
  • Ability to interpret, condense, and present findings to audiences with variable skill sets and experience levels
  • Ability to think abstractly and analytically to provide in-depth analysis and recommendations to internal customers, teammates, and external constituencies
  • Monitor production test results and perform statistical trend analysis on failed items
  • Lead Failure Review Boards (FRB) and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigation teams.
  • Experience collaborating in a team environment on multiple concurrent projects with overlapping competing deadlines
  • Ability to obtain US Government clearance
