About The Position

This is a 1st shift Material Project Manager Specialist Senior (MPM) position. The MPM will function as the point-of-contact between the Program Office, Functional Management, the Customer, supplier relationships, and other stakeholders to coordinate efforts to ensure successful resolutions of program issues. This role requires a senior professional with strong knowledge of project management, managing complex projects or processes with general oversight. The MPM will manage the material budget for assigned programs, provide accurate material forecasts, and conduct comprehensive business analysis of program material requirements, managing the impact on program EACs for all material-related actions. Collaboration with Program Office, Functional Management, and other stakeholders is key to defining and assigning task requirements, estimating budgets and schedules, determining performance metrics, clarifying priorities, and developing management plans. The role involves interaction with Engineering, Planning, Procurement, and Manufacturing personnel to ensure timely drawing releases and schedule achievement. Additionally, the MPM will support proposals by estimating labor and material efforts, review proposals and SOWs to establish metrics and reporting methods, assist with make-buy decisions, follow up on purchase orders, verify deliveries, resolve supplier issues, approve payments, and maintain records of material movement. Program performance monitoring and reporting using program management tools are essential, as is facilitating project coordination and decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
• Knowledge of manpower planning, milestone scheduling, PM tools, and related financial management.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required.

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
• Extensive experience with SAP and material processes strongly preferred.
• Previous material experience
• 6+ years in a similar technical MPM or equivalent leadership capacity, strong project management skills, outstanding communication (both verbally and written), negotiation, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the material budget for assigned program.
• Provide accurate material forecast.
• Conduct comprehensive business analysis of program material requirements and manage impact to program EAC's for all material related actions.
• Work collaboratively with Program Office and Functional Management, as well as other stakeholders, to define and assign task requirements; estimate and establish budget and schedules; determine appropriate performance metrics; clarify priorities; and develop and implement specific management plans to support the program.
• Interact with Engineering / Engineering design reviews, Planning, Procurement and Manufacturing personnel to ensure appropriate drawings are released and program schedules are achieved.
• Review proposals & Statements of Work (SOW) to establish status metrics and reporting methods that assists with Make buy decisions, follows up on open purchase orders, verifies delivery, participates in resolving supplier issues, approves payment, and maintains necessary records of material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory cycle(s).
• Utilize program management tools to monitor and report program performance to objectives (including budget, schedule, and other management requirements), and facilitate project coordination and decision-making.
• Provide proposal support to include estimating the scope of MPM labor and material efforts.
