About The Position

Senior Specialist, Network Engineer collaborates with the Systems and Cybersecurity Engineering team to design and model network architectures that meet customer requirements. Analyzes, plans, and adjusts network components and software, develops and assesses performance criteria, and supports capacity planning for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling. This role contributes to the innovative, high‑performing Space and Mission Systems (SMS) segment. In this position, you’ll deepen your network engineering expertise while making a broad impact across critical programs and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience or In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with HP/HPE, Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and F5
  • Experience with DISA SRGs/STIGs, patching, scanning, and remediation
  • Hands‑on IP network engineering experience
  • Active Top Secret with SCI required
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT‑2 within 90 days
  • CCNA or equivalent within 90 days

Nice To Haves

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • CCNP or equivalent vendor certification
  • Ability to plan, implement, verify and troubleshoot local and wide-area enterprise networks
  • Experience implementing and managing carrier grade network and network technologies such as Carrier Ethernet technologies.
  • Familiarity with GFE applications, such as Manticore and Cracken security applications
  • Experience in the configuration and implementation of Type-1 encryption used in encryption of data in transit (KG family of encryptors)
  • Familiarity with Network Management Systems (NMS) (Cisco Prime, HP OpenView, Etc.)
  • Familiarity with Software Defined Networking (SDN) concepts and technologies (OpenFlow, Cisco ACI, Etc.)
  • Familiarity with Cloud Networking services and architectures (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud networking, Etc.)
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Networking Architecture (ZTNA) concepts and technologies

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, plan, and adjust network components and software; develop performance criteria; and support capacity planning for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling
  • Evaluate technologies and designs to meet critical infrastructure and service needs
  • Configure and harden routers, switches, firewalls, VOIP, and satellite long‑haul communications
  • Implement and troubleshoot IP networks
  • Perform patching, scanning, remediation, and auditing
  • Develop and maintain security and configuration documentation
