About The Position

The Senior Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer supports defense and space programs by translating product designs into scalable manufacturing solutions, optimizing workflows, resolving production issues, and driving continuous improvement across the factory. The role combines technical expertise and hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment focused on operational excellence. The position is located in Palm Bay, Florida, and follows a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of prior relevant experience; or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of prior related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, at least 10 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

Background in manufacturing electronics for high-reliability, military, and government systems.
Experience generating electronic work authorization documentation using Aegis Fusion, Solumina, or an equivalent electronic manufacturing execution system.
Background in developing manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of MIL/IPC workmanship and performance standards related to electronic assemblies, such as IPC-610, IPC-620, and NASA-STD-8739.
Good communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective presentations to peers and management and work alongside the assembly team in the lab.
Demonstrated ability to find root causes of manufacturing process problems, workmanship defects, mechanical test failures, and similar issues.
Previous cable manufacturing assembly experience and experience writing work instructions or other technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Design, document, and improve manufacturing processes to ensure repeatability, efficiency, safety, and quality.
Provide daily production-floor support to resolve issues, reduce bottlenecks, and maintain production flow.
Specify, design, procure, and validate tools, fixtures, and equipment.
Create and maintain work instructions, routings, and process documentation.
Lead continuous-improvement initiatives, including waste reduction, cycle-time improvements, and root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with Quality to ensure processes meet specifications, standards, and command media.
Analyze production data, yields, and defect trends to drive corrective actions.
Support new product introduction by developing build plans, assessing manufacturability, and assisting with pilot builds.
Maintain configuration control and ensure processes reflect correct part numbers, bills of materials, and revisions.
Work cross-functionally with design engineering, planning, supply chain, quality, and operations.
Assess tasks for safety risks and implement ergonomic and safety improvements.
Train operators and technicians on processes, equipment, and best practices.
