About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Governance & Committees, this person will play a pivotal role in various aspects of committee coordination across different domains during the ramp-up phase and beyond. Key responsibilities include coordination and preparation of committees within PowerCo and Volkswagen Group. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Investment Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the release of investment proposal within PowerCo Canada and coordinating where necessary the preparation of committees for the release of investment budgets within the PowerCo Group and VW Group, ensuring that all processes are streamlined and effective and keeping track of budgetary dependencies. This role requires a blend of structural thinking, the ability to analyze complex requirements and expertise in communicating and visualizing complex strategic and financial content. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are imperative to drive successful outcomes. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to contribute to the success of our projects and make a significant impact within our organization. Interdisciplinary thinking will be important as the position will be working closely with international and diverse teams across various specialist disciplines. This position is a temporary hybrid model, requiring 2 days per week onsite in the St. Thomas office. This is subject to change based on the needs of the project and will eventually transition to fully onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in investment coordination, financial analysis, consulting, or a related role.
  • Strong structural thinking and organizational skills with the ability to analyze and synthesize complex data.
  • Highly engaging and self-motivated, with responsive, structured, and results-oriented working skills; ability to deliver results within tight timeframes and work both independently and within a team.
  • Strategic and pragmatic thinking with a strong commitment to project objectives.
  • Extremely collaborative, organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple issues and activities simultaneously in a highly professional manner.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office for creating financial presentations and reports

Responsibilities

  • Lead committee decision processes for PowerCo Canada in collaboration with senior management.
  • Develop strategic plans to secure approvals and create executive-level presentations aligned with operations, strategy, finance, and procurement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on investment releases.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready cost overviews and decision documentation.
  • Track progress, identify risks and opportunities, and support overall project performance.
  • Oversee large-scale plant infrastructure investments (e.g., machinery, automation, facility upgrades), ensuring alignment with growth objectives.
  • Lead preparation of high-impact presentations and coordinate regular stakeholder alignment meetings.
  • Support partnership strategies by developing and evaluating business cases, including financial impact, risks, and returns.
  • Prepare decision-ready materials and recommend viable opportunities.
  • Manage the company’s insurance portfolio in coordination with internal teams, brokers, and insurers.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage, monitor requirements, and support claims processes in line with corporate policies.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and act as a key point of contact for committee, insurance, and funding-related matters.
  • Independently develop and refine presentations and documentation to support leadership decision-making.
