About The Position

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is seeking a Senior Specialist, HRIS to be responsible for the effective development, administration, optimization, and integrity of the association's HR information systems, particularly Workday. This role involves collaborating with HR, payroll, IT, and business stakeholders to maintain accurate employee data, improve system processes, troubleshoot issues, support reporting needs, and enhance the employee and manager experience through reliable, efficient, and user-friendly HR systems. The AHA offers a flexible hybrid work schedule of three days in the office and two days working remotely.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information technology, business administration, human resources or related field
  • 5+ years HRIS systems experience, particularly Workday, including implementation, customization, and integration
  • Strong understanding of HRIS database design, structure, functions and processes, and databases tools, particularly Workday
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and data, including eligibility rules, enrollment rules and benefit procedures in order to ensure correct implementation
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of data and information
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively and utilize interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively perform multiple tasks with constantly changing priorities
  • Track record of strong business partnership and cross functional collaboration within a dynamic, fast paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful development, maintenance, operations and optimization of the primary HRIS (currently UKG) as well as other HR systems including learning management, performance management, SharePoint, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow improvements in HR and oversee system implementation projects.
  • Collaborate with HR team members and colleagues across the association to develop and optimize system effectiveness.
  • Provide system training to help guide end users on current processes and any new functionality.
  • Create and maintain training materials, procedures, guidelines and workflow documents for all HR systems as applicable.
  • Manage and test system upgrades and enhancements, configuration changes, reports, and integrations ensuring both process and system requirements are fully identified, evaluated, tested and implemented.
  • Identify and troubleshoot system issues and work with both internal and external resources to bring to resolution.
  • Serve as lead representative and liaison between HR, Payroll, Information Technology and other stakeholders for systems design, daily functional support and other HR and Business projects.
  • Create and deliver custom reports, dashboards and data analytics to meet the requirements of management and staff and to drive informed decision-making.
  • Ensure the integrity of all employee data is maintained for compliance, recordkeeping, and reporting while safeguarding data security and privacy.
  • Ensure continuous learning on new system enhancements and functionality / proactively lead the communication with those applicable on any system updates.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in HR technology and HRIS applications.
  • Maintain / foster relationships with system vendors or outside sources to enhance system knowledge, networking in the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
