About The Position

The Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering – Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) serves as an ILS Manager and subject matter expert, planning, developing, and executing integrated logistics and sustainment strategies for one or more complex programs involving legacy systems, technology refresh efforts, and future system development. The role leads supportability analyses, lifecycle sustainment planning, maintenance concept development, provisioning, and lifecycle cost activities. It works across engineering, program management, supply chain, field support, and customer organizations to integrate supportability requirements throughout the system lifecycle. The position operates with a high degree of independence and provides technical leadership, customer interface, and actionable recommendations that influence program execution, readiness, affordability, and long-term sustainment outcomes. The work schedule is 9/80: employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, and have every other Friday off. Travel is up to 10% for customer meetings, technical interchange meetings, program reviews, and other off-site program activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant systems engineering, logistics engineering, sustainment, or integrated logistics support experience; or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, at least 10 years of related integrated logistics support, sustainment, or logistics systems engineering experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance, status, or license.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 6 years of logistics engineering, sustainment engineering, or integrated logistics support experience for defense, aerospace, or similarly regulated technical programs.
  • Experience performing PSA and LSA in accordance with GEIA-STD-0007, MIL-STD-1388-2B, or equivalent industry standards.
  • Proficiency with LSA, PSA, and logistics data management tools and databases such as Slicwave, EAGLE, Powerlog, or similar applications.
  • Experience with supportability and cost analysis tools such as Compass (LORA), CASA (LCCA), or comparable applications.
  • Military logistics experience with hands-on involvement in ILS elements such as supply support, maintenance planning, and sustainment operations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing lifecycle sustainment documentation and supportability artifacts for complex hardware systems.
  • Experience defining and implementing support and maintenance concepts at organizational, intermediate, and depot levels.
  • Experience collaborating across systems engineering, design engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, program management, and customer organizations to influence product support outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience using artificial intelligence tools and techniques to enhance quality, improve decision-making, and increase efficiency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex logistics and sustainment concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, development, and coordination of integrated logistics support elements to identify, define, and implement program supportability requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Develop, review, and maintain logistics and sustainment documentation, including ILSP, LCSP, LCCA, LORA, PPL, MTA, maintenance plans, SERD, and related PSA and LSA deliverables.
  • Perform and interpret supportability, provisioning, sparing, repair-level, DMSMS, maintenance-planning, and sustainment-risk analyses, translating results into program recommendations.
  • Define support and maintenance concepts at the organizational, intermediate, and depot levels for electronic systems and equipment.
  • Analyze lifecycle cost drivers and support sustainment strategies that improve readiness, affordability, maintainability, and long-term supportability.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, design engineering, program management, manufacturing, supply chain, training, and customer stakeholders to integrate logistics and sustainment considerations into system design, development, fielding, and sustainment.
  • Support technical, design, and program reviews by presenting logistics, sustainment, and supportability considerations, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Use ILS, PSA, and LSA tools, models, and databases to manage logistics data, assess supportability performance, and generate metrics, analyses, and reports.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the ILS discipline and contribute to improvements in logistics engineering processes, methods, tools, and practices.
  • Engage with customers to communicate sustainment approaches, supportability status, and lifecycle impacts, and respond to customer logistics requirements and data deliverables.
  • Obtain and maintain any required security clearances, statuses, or licenses needed to perform the work.
  • Travel up to 10% for customer meetings, technical interchange meetings, program reviews, and other off-site program activities.
