About The Position

The position of Senior Specialist, Customs Brokerage is responsible for the customer service, communication, and visibility of import shipments for each respective importer. This position is required to file timely entries for the Customs release of freight; while ensuring that clearances are handled in Compliance with US Customs regulations and other agencies and focus on accurate filing of entries to avoid any unnecessary corrections with Customs. They will maintain up to date communication with each importer regarding the status and clearance of their freight.

Requirements

Mastery with respect to the Customs Brokerage Products’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Best Practices.
Be a knowledge source for other Specialist, Customs Brokerage team members.
Oversee and coordinate the complex service needs or challenges of RIM’s client base.

Responsibilities

File timely entries for the Customs release of freight.
Ensure clearances are handled in compliance with US Customs regulations and other agencies.
Focus on accurate filing of entries to avoid unnecessary corrections with Customs.
Maintain up-to-date communication with each importer regarding the status and clearance of their freight.
Maintain an average monthly file count of 20% - 25% above the current expected file count.
Produce minimal system and/or compliance errors.
Handle all files under the “Perfect File” expectations from start to finish.
Demonstrate mastery with respect to the Customs Brokerage Products’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Best Practices.
Be a knowledge source for other Specialist, Customs Brokerage team members.
Oversee and coordinate the complex service needs or challenges of RIM’s client base.
