About The Position

As a Senior Specialist in Contract Management, you will assist in the review and preparation of all contract documents for various programs within the Contract Management Office, specifically related to the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS). This role requires strong project organization, negotiation skills, problem identification, external customer interface, and plan implementation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of contract management experience.
  • Experience in shipbuilding, construction, oil & gas, defense, or large infrastructure industries.
  • Proficiency in relationship management.
  • Experience with milestone tracking and risk assessment/mitigation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, business, or a related field.
  • Ability to understand and negotiate Government of Canada contract clauses.
  • Creative problem-solving and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Project and process management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply contract clauses outlining the NSS requirements.
  • Represent the Contract Management Office in all customer relations, enabling the delivery of solutions for specific projects by providing procurement support.
  • Prepare briefing notes to support contracting strategies and decisions.
  • Interpret and analyze customer requirements and specifications, including reviewing task authorizations and amendments to ensure all risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Liaise with other functional departments to ensure contract management requirements are incorporated into their assessments and documentation.
  • Assist in disputes and issues analysis and resolution with the customer.
  • Monitor and enforce contract terms throughout the life of the contract.
  • Ensure Canadian government prime contract terms and conditions are flowed down to issued contracts and subcontracts.
  • Liaise with Legal Department and Supply Chain management for advice and guidance on contract terms and conditions compliance.
  • Evaluate, track, and file all contract modifications/amendments, ensuring completeness and correctness.
  • Maintain comprehensive procurement files, documenting contractual requirements and monitoring communications.
  • Coordinate and manage various reports and documentation for each contract.
  • Keep management informed of ongoing contractual and related issues.

Benefits

  • The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
