About The Position

The Senior Specialist, Construction Management, will report to the Lead Specialist, Construction Management through the Engineering Projects Department and is responsible for overseeing planning, coordinating, and executing construction activities for capital projects within the facility. This role ensures construction execution is safe, compliant, high-quality, and aligned with project scope, schedule, and budget. This position serves as a field construction leader and interfaces with engineering, operations, contractors, project management teams and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong background and understanding of industrial construction project management.
  • Knowledge of the transportation, storage, and processing of liquefied natural gas (LNG) or other cryogenic hydrocarbon liquids.
  • Working knowledge of receiving terminal, equipment, maintenance protocols, governmental regulations and related technical and safety codes and standards is required.
  • A high level of health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) awareness is required.
  • A knowledge of applicable regulations is required.
  • A high-level knowledge of estimating and scheduling process is required
  • Knowledge of business financial processes required
  • Computer literate with integrated Engineering Software packages, typical office packages and a high level of computer literacy.
  • Must be articulate and have effective management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • At least seven (7)+ years of construction experience in LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, or related heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field construction activities across multiple work fronts and contractors.
  • Monitor progress, field productivity, work sequencing, and adherence to site rules.
  • Coordinate daily construction activities with contractors, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to minimize disruption to plant operations.
  • Support incident response, near-miss reviews, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure contractors comply with the project’s Quality Plan, ITPs, and inspection requirements.
  • Support field inspections, welding and mechanical integrity checks, and resolution of NCRs.
  • Support in development, preparation and implementation of inspection programs which are based on statutory requirements and Cheniere LNG’s policies and guidelines.
  • Responsible for checking design specifications of the existing plant and equipment, the correct selection and application of materials and design cases to ensure their safety and integrity of existing and new assets.
  • Coordinate with CCL Inspection department in maintaining an effective equipment inspection history and record system in Plant Condition Management Software (PCMS).
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation and ensure final deliverables meet Company standards.
  • Participate in daily and weekly construction coordination meetings with contractors and internal project teams.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing compliance with site HSE policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all work complies with permit-to-work system, isolations, SIMOPS plans, and site access protocols.
  • Identifies interface issues with operations, maintenance, engineering, and other ongoing site activities and communicates with stakeholders to help resolve.
  • Ensure integration of temporary facilities, laydown areas, logistics, and material handling systems.
  • Provide input into construction schedules, look-aheads, and progress curves.
  • Facilitate site walkdowns, pre-job briefings, and progress meetings.
  • Identify risks to schedule or budget and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning teams in system completion, punch list management, and handover packages.
  • Ensure construction turnover documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and company specifications.
