About The Position

MITRE is seeking an experienced Senior Sourcing Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team who connect extraordinary talent to MITRE’s mission. This individual contributor role focuses on proactive talent sourcing and pipeline development for highly specialized technical and leadership positions across the enterprise. The Sourcing Recruiter serves as a strategic partner to recruiting colleagues and hiring managers—designing innovative sourcing strategies, leveraging modern sourcing technologies, and building relationships with exceptional candidates motivated by mission impact. This position reports to the Talent Acquisition Senior Manager. The role may be remote or based in McLean, VA, or Bedford, MA with occasional travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical recruiting or talent acquisition, with demonstrated success supporting complex, niche, or mission-critical roles.
  • Advanced expertise in technical recruiting and sourcing methodologies, including Boolean and X-ray search, passive candidate engagement, and labor market research techniques.
  • Experience recruiting within cleared or highly regulated environments.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), CRM platforms, and modern sourcing technologies; Workday and Phenom experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate recruiting data and labor market intelligence into actionable strategy.
  • Demonstrated success building consultative partnerships with business leaders, recruiting colleagues and influencing hiring outcomes.
  • Proven ability to mentor recruiters and contribute to continuous improvement of recruiting processes.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities effectively.
  • Creative and adaptive approach to sourcing beyond traditional channels.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in talent sourcing, recruitment, or executive research roles, preferably within technology, engineering, or mission-driven organizations.
  • 3+ years of experience sourcing or recruiting candidates in the cleared space.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting mid-to senior-level hiring.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled sourcing platforms and data-driven search methodologies.
  • Deep knowledge of technical, mission-critical, and cleared labor markets.
  • Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter, SeekOut, Phenom, Workday, and related CRM platforms.
  • Experience recruiting within government contracting, FFRDC, or nonprofit environments, including familiarity with clearance processes and government hiring practices

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with business leaders and Talent Advisors to understand current and future hiring needs, shape sourcing strategies, and attract talent to meet organizational goals.
  • Design and execute sourcing strategies to identify and engage passive candidates across technical, scientific, and leadership disciplines.
  • Mentor and support the ongoing development of the Talent Advisor team and Sourcing Partners through knowledge transfer, collaborative trainings and sharing innovative sourcing techniques.
  • Utilize advanced sourcing techniques and platforms—including AI-enabled tools, Boolean search, and data mining to identify and qualify talent.
  • Build, maintain, and nurture diverse talent pipelines aligned to MITRE’s mission areas.
  • Engage candidates through thoughtful, personalized outreach that reflects MITRE’s values and commitment to public service.
  • Track and analyze sourcing metrics; provide data-driven insights to inform strategy, improve conversion rates, and enhance quality of hire.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements that increase recruiting speed, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the broader Talent Acquisition team to continuously enhance sourcing tools, processes, and the overall candidate experience.
  • Represent MITRE at networking events, professional associations, and virtual talent communities as needed.
