Senior Sourcer

Redwood MaterialsSan Francisco, CA
$107,500 - $145,000

About The Position

Redwood Materials is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have. This role will own the top of the funnel for a defined set of critical requisitions across Redwood Materials, spanning Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC). The Senior Sourcer will partner with a recruiter and hiring manager on each critical requisition, develop the search strategy, execute outreach, and deliver engaged, qualified candidates. Success will be measured by qualified submittals, response rates, and the proportion of hires originating from the sourcer's pipeline.

Requirements

  • Experience sourcing for hard technical and operational roles in manufacturing, hardware, energy, chemicals, automotive, or construction.
  • Ability to credibly discuss technical aspects with chemical engineers or plant general managers.
  • A portfolio of successful hires generated through direct outreach, not inbound applicants.
  • Demonstrated ability to build market maps before initiating outreach.
  • Outreach reply rates well above the industry average.
  • Fluency in Boolean and structured search across LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Proficiency with at least one AI-assisted sourcing tool (e.g., Juicebox, SeekOut, HireEZ).
  • Experience working cleanly in Greenhouse and maintaining an up-to-date pipeline.
  • Ability to manage 6 to 10 critical requisitions concurrently and identify reasons for stalled searches.
  • Comfort working across time zones with hiring managers in Nevada and South Carolina.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience sourcing for Energy, Battery, Power, EPC, construction, or industrial project roles.
  • Experience sourcing internationally, including candidates requiring visa sponsorship.
  • Experience building talent pools and nurture campaigns beyond immediate requisition needs.

Responsibilities

  • Own search strategy on critical requisitions.
  • Run intake meetings with recruiters and hiring managers to define ideal profiles, target companies, and outreach strategies.
  • Build market maps for each search, including target companies, organizational structures, and named prospects.
  • Set and report on weekly sourcing goals per requisition.
  • Find and engage passive candidates through multi-channel sourcing, including LinkedIn Recruiter, Juicebox, GitHub, technical communities, conference and patent data, referrals, and competitor organization mapping.
  • Write personalized and specific outreach messages designed to elicit responses from passive candidates.
  • Conduct first-touch screens and hand off warm candidates to recruiters with a clear summary.
  • Log all prospects and interactions in Greenhouse to ensure pipeline visibility for recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Track response and conversion rates by channel and message to adjust sourcing strategies.
  • Flag requisitions where market data suggests issues with the profile, compensation, or location, and present data-driven insights.
  • Share sourcing strings, market maps, and outreach templates with the team.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to calibrate the definition of 'qualified' candidates to improve submittal quality.
