About The Position

The Certified Staff 1 and 2/Senior Sonographer works under the administrative direction of the Radiology Director and Operations Supervisor, and under the clinical direction and guidance of the Radiologist and Ultrasound Team Leader. The Sonographer performs a variety of routine, complex and highly technical procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative in the application of nonionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves to humans for diagnosis of disease.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of an approved CAHEA/JRCT school of Radiologic Technology, or a two year allied health equivalent
  • RDMS ultrasound certification
  • ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) certified
  • RVT is required within 180 days of employment
  • RDMS (OB) is required within 2 years of employment
  • RVT and RDMS required
  • OB required within 2 years of employment
  • RVT, RDMS (OB) plus one additional ARDMS specialty board (not including Physics)
  • Five plus years registered sonographer experience
