About The Position

Designs, implements, and maintains ServiceNow Platform Analytics and reporting solutions to support strategic, accurate decision-making, with a focus on CMDB performance health and KPIs and metrics. The role works with business partners, stakeholders, and technology teams to understand requirements and deliver analytics capabilities, while maintaining governance and the technical environment needed for dashboards and reports. It also supports CMDB data quality, process improvement, documentation, and training.

The position is expected to follow M&T internal control, risk, regulatory, and company policy standards; identify risk-related issues for escalation; stay informed about relevant technology and market trends; and promote an inclusive environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Requirements

• Combined minimum of 6 years of higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, and/or architecture.
• Advanced technical and analytical skills.
• Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, including identifying root causes.
• Advanced knowledge and expertise in industry and/or vendor technologies.
• Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured, high-quality implementations using industry-standard approaches.
• Ability to solicit, gather, document, and analyze system specifications and requirements.

• Strong understanding of ServiceNow CMDB concepts, ITIL processes, and automation technologies.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a technical engineering position involving infrastructure design technologies, data management and interchange, system design, and/or development for complex applications.
• Familiarity with agile principles.
• Experience with other BI tools.
• Completed ServiceNow training in System Administrator, Platform Analytics, Discovery, and/or HAM/SAM.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced ServiceNow Platform Analytics solutions, including custom reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboards.
• Create and maintain ServiceNow performance indicators, breakdowns, targets, widgets, and dashboards based on requirements from business partners and related teams.
• Create and modify scripts and database views for analytics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and technology teams to understand and document needs and requirements.
• Identify and manage opportunities for analytics improvement initiatives.
• Establish and maintain a platform-wide governance framework for ServiceNow Platform Analytics.
• Ensure dashboard technical environments are available and functioning, including appropriate report sources or database views.
• Mentor the organization on Platform Analytics services, concepts, policies, and procedures, and provide training to applicable groups.
• Ensure CMDB data accuracy and completeness, address errors, identify root causes, and assist engineering staff in developing solutions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the CMDB and related processes.
• Assist with documenting CMDB processes and provide training to technical staff and management.
• Adhere to M&T internal control standards, including participating in internal and external audit matters and addressing applicable issues raised by external regulators.
• Develop a thorough understanding of technology and its functions, processes, and operations.
• Remain current on business and market trends that may affect the department and business lines.
• Follow company risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the company’s Risk Appetite.
• Identify risk-related issues requiring escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
