Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Sr Software Test Engineer to join our Coronary Therapies R&D team, working on innovative products that sustain and improve the lives of patients around the world. The successful candidate will participate in medical device software verification and validation in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Testing medical device applications requires rigor and attention to detail to meet industry and regulatory standards. We are looking for a motivated and creative software application test engineer with a strong focus on quality and expertise in requirements-based software test automation. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Arbor Lakes – Maple Grove, Minnesota, office at least three days per week. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of five years’ relevant professional experience with a bachelor’s degree, or minimum of three years’ relevant professional experience with a master’s degree, demonstrating consistent delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Minimum of three years’ hands-on test automation experience, including the design, development and execution of automated test suites to improve efficiency.
Expert-level proficiency in Python, with the ability to architect scalable frameworks, optimize code for performance and mentor others on best practices.
Demonstrated technical leadership through leading cross-functional teams, driving complex projects to completion, mentoring others and influencing technical direction to achieve measurable outcomes.

Nice To Haves

Experience with behavior-driven development (BDD) practices and proficiency in Gherkin syntax.
Ability to design test infrastructure and select appropriate tools for implementation.
Familiarity with Windows services and desktop application development, including the ability to install, configure and troubleshoot Windows-based environments.
Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Jama Connect, Bitbucket, Git and Jenkins.
Experience contributing to medical device projects in Agile environments, with adherence to IEC 62304 and IEC 60601 standards.
Knowledge of secure software development life cycle (SSDLC) methodologies.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell and Python.
Hands-on testing capabilities using C#, C++, HTTP and MQTT.
Strong understanding of network analysis tools, including tcpdump, Nmap and Wireshark.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts.

Responsibilities

Oversee the planning, design and execution of test strategies to ensure alignment with project goals and regulatory standards.
Coordinate and prioritize test activities within projects while facilitating communication among cross-functional teams regarding objectives, timelines and deliverables.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced test engineers, supporting their growth and knowledge sharing.
Develop, track and present test metrics, progress and quality reports to senior management.
Lead root cause analysis of test failures, coordinate resolutions and support continuous improvement by evaluating new tools and best practices.
Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements and compliance with industry standards, and represent the test team in meetings, audits and reviews.
