About The Position

Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Sr Software Test Engineer to join our Coronary Therapies R&D team, working on innovative products that sustain and improve the lives of patients around the world. Join a fast-growing, talented team as we invest in a best-in-class software product using best-in-class software practices. This role will also help lead a team of six. The successful candidate will participate in medical device software verification and validation in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Testing medical device applications requires rigor and attention to detail to meet industry and regulatory standards. We are looking for a motivated and creative software application test engineer with a strong focus on quality and expertise in requirements-based software test automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of five years’ relevant professional experience with a bachelor’s degree, or minimum of three years’ relevant professional experience with a master’s degree, demonstrating consistent delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Minimum of three years’ hands-on test automation experience, including the design, development and execution of automated test suites to improve efficiency.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python, with the ability to architect scalable frameworks, optimize code for performance and mentor others on best practices.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership through leading cross-functional teams, driving complex projects to completion, mentoring others and influencing technical direction to achieve measurable outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with behavior-driven development (BDD) practices and proficiency in Gherkin syntax.
  • Ability to design test infrastructure and select appropriate tools for implementation.
  • Familiarity with Windows services and desktop application development, including the ability to install, configure and troubleshoot Windows-based environments.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Jama Connect, Bitbucket, Git and Jenkins.
  • Experience contributing to medical device projects in Agile environments, with adherence to IEC 62304 and IEC 60601 standards.
  • Knowledge of secure software development life cycle (SSDLC) methodologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell and Python.
  • Hands-on testing capabilities using C#, C++, HTTP and MQTT.
  • Strong understanding of network analysis tools, including tcpdump, Nmap and Wireshark.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, design and execution of test strategies to ensure alignment with project goals and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate and prioritize test activities within projects while facilitating communication among cross-functional teams regarding objectives, timelines and deliverables.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced test engineers, supporting their growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop, track and present test metrics, progress and quality reports to senior management.
  • Lead root cause analysis of test failures, coordinate resolutions and support continuous improvement by evaluating new tools and best practices.
  • Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements and compliance with industry standards, and represent the test team in meetings, audits and reviews.
