Requirements

A working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 (series)
Experience during design, development, use, and maintenance of safety-critical software systems and their integration with safety-critical hardware systems
5 years of Software Safety Engineering experience
At least 4 years of experience of conducting or assisting in software and or firmware analyses
Familiarity with Joint Software Systems Safety Engineering Handbook (JSSSEH), DO-178C and DO-331
Ability to create briefings in PowerPoint and brief to a technical audience
Ability to analyze, research, assess, and organize technical data into cohesive and clear technical reports and presentations
Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups
Extensive experience in systems safety, with a proven track record of successfully mitigating hazards in complex systems
Familiarity with DoD/aerospace safety requirements & policy to include AR385-17, IEEE C95.1, DOD4145.26
Understanding of design reviews process and design gates for large Department of Defense (DOD) procurement programs
Understanding of risk and hazard assessment, mitigations and acceptance
Demonstrated experience developing and presenting safety assessments to a diverse audience
SECRET level clearance or higher
