As a Senior Software Engineer on the Safety Foundation team, you will architect, implement, and grow the systems that enable the moderation of all content and interactions on Roblox. Your work will be fundamental in keeping the experiences of over 100+ million daily active users at Roblox safe, civil, and delightful. In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager of the Safety Foundation team.

Requirements

5+ years of experience building & operating backend services and/or distributed systems
Proficient in Go or a similar compiled language (Go strongly preferred)
Experience with or strong interest in building developer platforms
Experience with CQRS, Event Sourcing, NoSQL tech such as Cassandra, DynamoDB is a plus
BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

Contribute to the architecture & development of the Safety Platform - the backbone that powers safety across Roblox.
Help design & build the developer experience layer that enables product teams across Roblox to integrate safety capabilities in hours, not months
Take ownership of projects from concept to deployment, ensuring high quality, reliability, and scalability.
Partner closely with Trust & Safety ML, User Safety, Safety Operations, and product teams to translate platform needs into durable infrastructure
