About The Position

Belay Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its intel team and support the Platform team. The role focuses on building and maintaining the AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, and security posture that support the organization’s AI capabilities and AI-enabled applications. The engineer will deploy and maintain reliable, secure infrastructure and turn loosely defined problems into working solutions as mission needs and technologies evolve.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
12 years of experience, a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or 4 additional years of experience in place of the bachelor's degree.
Experience configuring and using observability tools such as the Elastic Stack (Kibana) and Grafana/Prometheus.
Experience with certificate management and cloud-native security practices.
Experience supporting cloud-native architecture and maintaining production software and infrastructure.
Ability to translate high-level mission goals into engineering outcomes.

Nice To Haves

Experience developing technical policies and governance frameworks.
Experience with AI inference-serving technologies such as vLLM and LiteLLM.
Previous experience with agentic frameworks.
Knowledge of vector databases and embedding systems.
Familiarity with LLMs and AI hosting concepts.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure used by the organization's AI capabilities, including AWS and Kubernetes.
Translate high-level stakeholder goals into engineering outcomes and platform solutions.
Work in ambiguous problem spaces and define structured solutions the team can execute.
Mentor engineers and develop team best practices, engineering standards, and technical governance.
Establish and enforce infrastructure and data security practices, including certificate and identity management.
