About The Position

Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, modernize, and operate reliable, scalable full-stack applications using C#/.NET on the backend and TypeScript/React on the front end. The role combines strong software engineering fundamentals with an AI-native approach to development, using AI agents to accelerate delivery while retaining ownership of design decisions and production quality. The engineer will own complex projects end-to-end, contribute to and improve the team's AI-native tooling and workflows, and raise engineering standards through code reviews and mentorship. The role also involves enterprise integrations, cloud deployment, CI/CD, application security and performance, and collaboration with product managers, designers, and business partners. ADS is a manufacturer of stormwater and onsite septic wastewater solutions with a global manufacturing and distribution network. The company emphasizes innovation, inclusive collaboration, continuous improvement, and sustainability, including recycling over half a billion pounds of plastic annually.

  • Experience modernizing applications, including re-platforming and incrementally moving legacy applications to current .NET, cloud, and Clean Architecture standards.
  • DevSecOps experience embedding automation, quality, and security across delivery, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and blue-green or canary release strategies.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications across the Microsoft stack, using C#/.NET on the backend and TypeScript/React on the front end.
  • Integrate applications with enterprise and external systems, including Oracle and MuleSoft, through RESTful APIs.
  • Direct AI coding agents to implement, test, and refactor features while owning design decisions and the quality of delivered software.
  • Build and maintain AI-native tooling, including custom instructions, prompt files, custom agents, and Agent Skills.
  • Apply context engineering and multi-agent workflows to provide appropriate context and guardrails for production-ready code.
  • Review AI-generated and human-written code for correctness, security, performance, and architectural integrity.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and deploy applications to Microsoft Azure.
  • Ensure web application security, performance, and scalability across the stack.
  • Participate in and lead code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
