About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
  • 9+ years developing mission-critical embedded software for aircraft.
  • 6+ years proficiency in C++ or C.
  • 6+ years experience with IBM DOORS or comparable requirements management tools.
  • 6+ years working with F-22 subsystems and software architecture.
  • 6+ years experience with HWIL simulation environments and requirement-verification/unit testing.
  • Deep understanding of aerospace and embedded software development processes (DO-178B, C).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MATLAB and Python.
  • Knowledge of 6DoF simulations.
  • Familiarity with fire control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Steer the technical direction for the F-22 SMS software team, ensuring high standards and innovation.
  • Prepare engineering basis of estimate (BOE) bids for new software features and enhancements.
  • Coordinate regularly with Cost Accounting Managers and leadership to ensure accurate progress tracking and project alignment.
  • Drive Agile software development practices, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Design, implement, and integrate advanced C/C++ code for airborne applications.
  • Participate in requirement analysis, verification, and validation activities to ensure software quality.
  • Support and conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulations and testing for embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and elevate software performance.
  • Contribute to comprehensive documentation and configuration management using IBM DOORS.
