The engineer may work independently or as part of a team, review and test software components against design requirements, document test results, and resolve software problem reports. The role involves analyzing user requirements and deriving software design and performance requirements; designing, coding, modifying, integrating, and testing software; and providing input on system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, COTS/GOTS use, and requirements analysis. The engineer may also design complex database interfaces and queries, develop algorithms to meet system performance and functional standards, contribute to documentation and development standards, and serve as a team lead at the level appropriate to the project’s software development process. The position requires a current Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance for this position. The expected salary range is $225,000–$275,000, depending on education and years of experience.
