About The Position

Join Microsoft’s Semantic Fabric Team to build technology that indexes, understands, and serves enterprise data for the era of large language models. Semantic Fabric provides a semantic index for enterprise data in Microsoft 365, drawing on sources such as documents, Teams messages, connector data, and email. Integrated with LLMs, the platform helps Copilot find and use relevant grounding data for enterprise scenarios. In this role, you will develop highly scalable ingestion pipelines and indexing solutions at exabyte scale, with interactive freshness and low-latency access to enterprise content. You will contribute across the software development lifecycle, collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders, and help ensure the platform is scalable, reliable, secure, and compliant with Microsoft’s privacy standards. The work is intended to improve Copilot’s ability to provide relevant data to users globally.

  • Build scalable, high-performance software services over large datasets with low latency and high availability.
  • Ensure the platform adheres to Microsoft’s data privacy, compliance, security, and privacy standards.
  • Participate in the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and other engineering teams to integrate components into the larger system.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, select technologies, design scalable and sustainable solutions, and plan for future growth.
  • Identify technical debt and issues affecting software performance or reliability, and devise solutions.
  • Stay informed about developments in LLMs and semantic search and identify opportunities to improve Semantic Fabric using new methods or technologies.
  • Participate in code reviews as both a reviewer and reviewee to ensure software quality and promote best practices.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including team members, other teams, and customers, to gather feedback and ensure the software meets their needs.
