About The Position
CoStar Group is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to drive full-lifecycle development of a customer-facing Real Estate Analytics product. The Analytics team builds innovative, data-intensive applications that use information collected by CoStar Research to deliver a fast, reliable, and intuitive analytics platform. The team brings together big data, API/platform, and front-end expertise and works collaboratively to develop and improve its products. The role is based in San Diego (UTC Area). The work arrangement is in office Monday through Thursday and work from home on Friday. The position involves designing and delivering scalable applications, taking ownership of production-ready work, collaborating on technical designs, and contributing to the evolution of the team and its development practices, including AI-assisted workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college or university.
- A track record of commitment to prior employers.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience using AI-assisted development workflows in a production environment, such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code, to generate, review, and improve code.
- Solid understanding of and experience with object-oriented programming.
- Deep knowledge of modern server-side languages and application frameworks, including C#, .NET Framework, Web API, and Node.
- Knowledge of modern front-end languages and application frameworks, including JavaScript and React.
- Expertise with relational database systems such as SQL Server.
- Expertise in software development best practices, including standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
- Expertise with source control such as Git or TFS.
Nice To Haves
- Expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with NoSQL technologies such as Redis or Neo4j.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy scalable, reusable, and maintainable applications that handle large amounts of data, using AI-assisted development workflows where appropriate.
- Take ownership of work from development and testing through deployment and production support, maintaining high standards for correctness, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, designers, and leadership to develop clear and effective technical designs and implementations.
- Serve as a trusted team member on technical architecture, design, and code.
- Advocate for technical and non-technical improvements within teams, including AI-assisted development workflows.
- Develop a deep understanding of CoStar's business and Analytics products.
