About The Position

The WI Emerging Business is seeking a Software Engineer in Test to automate product testing and help ensure product quality and release readiness. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites and frameworks, working closely with application owners, developers, product managers, and engineering managers to review requirements and implement solutions in an Agile environment. The engineer will bring a software engineering approach to testing practices, define and develop automation tests, rapidly prototype ideas, write and adapt source code, and test components. The role also includes ensuring designs meet performance, security, usability, reliability, and scalability requirements. The position is part of an Agile team working on a two-week cadence, with cross-squad collaboration and participation in the Emerging Business/Digital Chapter and the automation community.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
At least 6 years of professional testing or development experience involving UI and API automation.
Verifiable experience building and maintaining an automation framework in a large enterprise environment using Playwright and/or Cypress.
Verifiable experience using TypeScript and/or JavaScript and Cucumber/BDD.
Experience following standard testing methodologies for Angular/Vue-based user interfaces and RESTful web services.
Experience in a DevOps environment with CI/CD tools.
Experience with Git/Bitbucket Server (Stash), Jenkins, and uDeploy.
Ability to investigate, isolate, and solve technical issues across the full technology stack using automated and manual testing.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment to achieve team goals.
Experience using business requirements to craft, develop, and maintain test plans and test cases.
Interest in learning innovative technologies and willingness to adopt new technologies.

Nice To Haves

Experience with code quality and coverage tools such as Sonar.

Responsibilities

Define and develop a suite of automation tests for Emerging Business.
Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites and automation frameworks.
Work closely with product, developers, application owners, and engineering managers to review requirements and implement solutions.
Use business requirements to create, develop, and maintain test plans and test cases.
Investigate, isolate, and solve technical issues across the full technology stack using automated and manual testing methodologies.
Work as part of a team of SDETs focused on automation and building reusable artifacts.
Rapidly prototype ideas to validate approaches.
Write source code, adapt existing components, and test developed components.
Ensure designs meet performance, security, usability, reliability, and scalability requirements.
Collaborate across squads and participate in the Emerging Business/Digital Chapter and automation community.
