About The Position

This role involves the integration and verification of software builds to produce software releases for development and production usage. The engineer will serve as the single point of contact with the supplier's software group, establishing delivery content schedules and resolving issues. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of software content and anomaly corrections, actively managing controller resources, and escalating issues to SMEs for resolution when necessary. The role also entails preparing software for production release, providing technical leadership for advanced technology development, and staying current with new technologies, debugging tools, microprocessors, and software development processes. Additionally, the engineer will foster and document best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables and reduce development lead time, as well as train, develop, mentor, and evaluate the technical capabilities of team members. This position operates under a hybrid work policy, requiring 3 days in-office and 2 days remote, with the ability to report to the local office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study, AND Five (5) years of experience as a Senior Technical Embedded Software Engineering, Technical Leader, Project Lead, Senior Software Engineer, or related occupation.
  • OR Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study, AND Two (2) years of experience as a Senior Technical Embedded Software Engineering, Technical Leader, Project Lead, Senior Software Engineer, or related occupation.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the following: Develop large scale software projects for real-time embedded systems; SW development and testing; C, Assembly, and Perl; Real time operating systems including RTOS for embedded system, instrumentation, and development tools including GiT, Jenkins, Eclipse INCA in circuit emulators debuggers dSpace; and Microprocessor and Micro-controller design and theory.

Responsibilities

  • Integration and verification of software build to produce software releases for development and production usage.
  • Single point contact to supplier’s software group, working with the supplier to establish delivery content schedules and resolve issues.
  • Assist in the development of software content and anomaly corrections.
  • Actively manage controller resources, escalating and engaging SMEs for resolution if necessary.
  • Prepare software for production release.
  • Provide technical leadership for advanced technology development and stay abreast of new technology, debugging and instrumentation tools, microprocessors, and software development processes.
  • Foster and document best practices to ensure high quality deliverables and reduce development lead time.
  • Train, develop, mentor, and evaluate the technical capability of team members.
